Notice Extending Time in RAIO Consultation

URCA Today issued a Notice extending the time for the RAIO consultation to 12th November, 2010, for interested parties to comment on submissions made by BTC regarding its charges for Joining Circuits and Forecasting and Planning as mandated by URCA in the Public Consultation document (ECS 22/2010) published on 7th September regarding BTC’s draft Reference Access and Interconnection Offer (RAIO). Public Consultation to Open New Spectrum Bands

Today, URCA published a Public Consultation to Initiate the Opening of New Spectrum Bands. This work follows the publication of the National Spectrum Plan on 12 March 2010. The document is to solicit views on the proposed opening of new spectrum bands and to invite expressions of interest for frequency assignments from interested parties. The spectrum bands under consideration in this consultation are those where there are no existing frequency assignments. URCA Issues Number Portability Survey Press Release

The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) has launched a survey inviting public reaction to the introduction of Number Portability in The Bahamas. Number Portability is a service that allows subscribers to keep their existing telephone number(s) even though they might change from one service provider to another. The survey is a first step in assessing consumer preferences. The survey was conducted over a two week period and has been completed thus far.
