Public Consultation: Publication of Regulatory (Separated) Accounts

Today, the Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) published a consultation paper entitled Publication of Regulatory (Separated) Accounts–ECS 21/2011. This document seeks comments from stakeholders and interested parties on the Obligation imposed on SMP Licensees to make available certain aspects of their separated accounts. The document presents URCA’s rationale for the publication of Separated Accounts and details the type of financial information that must be contained in the separated accounts that are to be published for public consumption. Public Consultation: Code of Practice for Regulation of Content Services

URCA today published its Public Consultation document on the Code of Practice for the Regulation of Content Services and Audiovisual Media Services under sections 52 and 53 respectively of the Communications Act 2009. The principal purpose of the draft Code of Practice is to regulate the types of content that can be broadcast in The Bahamas on television stations, radio stations, teletext services, and cable television networks providing local and overseas channels.
