URCA Issues Statement on Navette Broadcasting

Today the Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority, URCA, assisted by the Royal Bahamas Police Force, successfully executed a search and seizure warrant at the transmitter site of Navette Broadcasting & Entertainment Co. Ltd (Navette). The effect of the action, ceased Navette’s operation of an FM radio station using the broadcast frequency 103.5FM, which is licensed to Paramount Systems Ltd pursuant to a licence from URCA dated 15 June 2017. The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (“URCA”) has published a Final Determination and Order to the Bahamas Telecommunications Company Ltd. (“BTC") relating to breaches by BTC of the ex-ante retail pricing rules and other regulatory measures. URCA Publishes Responses to Preliminary Determination on Review of Resale Broadband Obligations imposed on BTC and CBL

The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) has today published the Initial Responses received to its Preliminary Determination on the “Review of the Resale Broadband Obligation imposed on BTC and CBL under Section 116 and Schedule 4 of the Communications Act, 2009” (ECS 09/2017).
