Newly Revised National Spectrum Plan (NSP) now available for consultation

The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) has published on its website, the consultation document for the National Spectrum Plan (2019 – 2022). Section 31(4) of the Communications Act (Comms Act) requires that the plan is revised every three years. The NSP is formulated in collaboration with the Government and is intended to further the objectives of the Electronic Communications Sector Policy. URCA Issues 2019 Fee Schedule

The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) has today issued its Fee Schedule 2019. The new Fee Schedule includes fees payable in 2019 related to URCA’s regulation of both the Electronic Communication Sector (ECS) and Electricity Sector (ES). The Fee Schedule established the revised URCA Fee for 2019, which is based on URCA’s draft Budget for 2018 published on 20 December 2018 (URCA 08/2018). Based on URCA Budget 2019 calculations, the ECS URCA Fee is set at 1.083% of relevant turnover, while the ES URCA Fee is set at .3902% of relevant turnover.
