URCA Publishes Responses to Consultation on Methodology for Assessment of Significant Market Power

On Wednesday 29th June, 2011 URCA received two responses to its Public Consultation Document (ECS 09/2011) on “Methodology for Assessment of Significant Market Power”, which was issued on May 18th 2011. Public Consultation: Methodology for Assessment of Significant Market Power (SMP)

Today the Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) published a consultation paper entitled Methodology for Assessment of Significant Market Power (SMP) Under Section 39(2) of The Communications Act, 2009. This document reviews and seeks comments from stakeholders and interested parties. It proposes, inter alia, an approach to market reviews for the assessment of SMP and for addressing the transitional provision of SMP licensees currently existing under s.116 of the Communications Act, 2009.
