Including gifts to schools in the local community where URCA’s office is located: Doris Johnson Senior High School received 8 computer systems. The School’s IT teacher recently introduced Computer Aided Draft and Design (CADD) to the computing curriculum. Uriah McPhee Primary School received 2 computer systems for use in the School’s library. URCA’s gift also included 1-year subscription and licenses to online educational programmes including Brain Pop, Brain Pop Jr, Brain Pop Espanol and Reading A – Z. URCA 2013 Oral Hearing

The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) will hold its annual Oral Hearing on Monday May 27th at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Harry C. Moore Library, The College of The Bahamas. At this hearing, the Board will present URCA’s 2012 Annual Report and its plan of projects and activities for 2013. URCA to Host OOCUR Conference in GB

The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority’s (URCA) will host the Tenth Annual Conference of the Organisation of Caribbean Utility Regulators (OOCUR), from Wednesday November 7th to Friday November 9th at the Grand Lucayan Resort in Freeport, Grand Bahama. Under the theme Utility Regulation in the Caribbean: A Case of the Harmonization of Approaches to Regulation, the conference will be opened by the Hon.
