NGS 08/2024 – Natural Gas Supply Regulation
1) In the exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 8(3)(c) and 123(e) of the Natural Gas Act, 2024, the Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (“URCA”) hereby issues these Regulations relating to the metering of natural gas in The Bahamas.
2) The objectives of these Regulations are as follows:
a) to set out the obligations for connecting, re-connecting and disconnecting gas installations, gas fittings and gas appliances; and
b) to set out the requirements for gas service workers to be licensed as such, including the necessary qualifications, examinations and fees;
c) to set out the responsibilities of gas service workers; and
d) to set out a supervision regime, including a regime for suspension of and any other aspect regarding the activities of gas service workers.
