URCA has launched a public consultation on proposed Gas Service Worker Regulations intended to modernise and strengthen the licensing and qualification framework for gas service workers within The Bahamas’ natural gas sector.
The consultation document, issued as NGS 14/2026, outlines URCA’s proposal to replace the existing Class A and Class B gas service worker licence structure with a single licensing framework based on qualifications, competencies, certifications, and practical experience. The proposed framework is intended to better align with the broader regulatory scope established under the Natural Gas Act, 2024 and support safe and effective oversight across the evolving natural gas sector.
URCA is inviting comments and submissions from members of the public, licensees, industry participants, and other interested stakeholders.
Responses to the consultation should be submitted on or before 5:00 p.m. 19 June 2026. Submissions may preferably be made by completing the electronic consultation form or alternatively by email to info@urcabahamas.bs. Respondents are encouraged to clearly identify the consultation questions being addressed and provide supporting explanations for their views.
The consultation document, electronic consultation questions submission form and annexed draft Gas Service Worker Regulations (NGS 15/2026) are available separately at the link below.
