ECS 18/2017 Proposal to Open Standard Spectrum Bands Currently Specified as ‘Closed’ in the National Spectrum Plan 2014-2017
The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) has today published a Consultation Document under the caption Proposal to Open Standard Spectrum Bands Currently Specified as ‘Closed’ in the National Spectrum Plan 2014-2017 (ECS 03/2014). The Consultation Document is listed as ECS 18/2017.
The objectives of this public consultation on the proposal to open standard spectrum bands currently specified as ‘closed’ in the national spectrum plan are to:
- Identify the spectrum bands designated as ‘closed’ in the NSP;
- Propose a method of opening the ‘closed’ spectrum bands;
- Seek comments from interested persons, regarding URCA’s proposed opening of the ‘closed’ spectrum bands; and
- Open the “closed” bands based on the public’s interest and feedback from the industry.
URCA encourages all interested parties to make written submissions on the consultation. Initial responses to this Consultation Document should be submitted to URCA by 5 p.m. on 8 December 2017.
