URCA publishes NGS 092026 Supplementary Licences for the Natural Gas Sector in The Bahamas

The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) has issued its second-round consultation document on supplementary licences for the Natural Gas Sector in The Bahamas, inviting comments from the public, licensees, and other interested stakeholders on proposed Terminal Construction and Pipeline Construction Licences and a new proposed Step-in Event provision designed to help preserve continuity of critical natural gas infrastructure development in the public interest. The consultation forms part of URCA’s ongoing work under the Natural Gas Act, 2024 to establish a transparent, fair, and non-discriminatory regulatory framework for the sector, while supporting national energy security, environmental protection, and economic development. URCA is encouraging all interested persons to review the consultation materials and submit written responses by 16 March 2026 to info@urcabahamas.bs
