Press Release – First Round Responses to the Review of Wholesale Broadband Access Services Preliminary Determination
Today, the Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (“URCA”) published on its website the first-round responses received to its Preliminary Determination on the Review of Wholesale Broadband Access Services under Sections 39 and 40 of the Communications Act, 2009 (ECS 04/2020). On 27 April 2020, URCA launched a two-round consultation process in respect of the captioned regulatory measure. With the publication of first-round responses on its website, URCA now invites written comments on the views expressed by BTC, CBL, Coakster Wireless, Global Nexus, Last Mile Communications, Secure Hosting, and Wicom Bahamas Ltd. in their first-round responses on the Preliminary Determination. Copies of the Preliminary Determination and all first-round responses may be downloaded here.
Persons who wish to express opinions on the Preliminary Determination and first-round responses are invited to submit their comments in writing to URCA’s Director of Electronic Communications, either:
- by hand to URCA’s office at Frederick House, Frederick Street, Nassau;
- by mail to P.O. Box N-4860, Nassau, Bahamas;

All written comments are requested by 5:00 p.m. on 15 July 2020.
