The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) is pleased to announce the
publication of its Statement of Results and Next Steps following the Public Consultation on the
Roadmap to Enable 5G Deployment in The Bahamas, which was initiated on 22 August 20241
.
URCA views this document as a crucial milestone in establishing the regulatory framework to
facilitate 5G deployment in The Bahamas.
Through the public consultation, URCA sought to gather input from industry stakeholders and
other interested parties on supply-side issues and other matters relevant to 5G deployment in
The Bahamas. The goal was to enable a market-driven approach to 5G deployment tailored for
The Bahamas. URCA extends its sincere gratitude to all respondents for their valuable
contributions and encourages continued engagement in future public consultations.
In this Statement of Results and Next Steps, URCA has summarized key stakeholder
contributions, provided responses, and outlined actionable next steps that will guide the
establishment and implementation of the regulatory framework for 5G deployment in The
Bahamas.
URCA will continue to engage with stakeholders as it progresses with the establishment and
implementation of the 5G regulatory framework for The Bahamas.
