Code of Practice for Content Regulation (Revised 2024)

URCA has published the revised Code of Practice for Content Regulation (ECS 78/2024). This updated Code reflects URCA’s commitment to fostering responsible content management across broadcasting and media services while adapting to emerging technologies and evolving societal expectations.

The revisions include enhanced guidelines for protecting young audiences, addressing synthetic and AI-generated media, and promoting inclusivity through improved accessibility standards. The revised code also deals with prior election silence restrictions, as well as gambling, alcohol, and cannabis advertising. These updates were informed by extensive public and stakeholder consultations to ensure they align with the needs and values of the Bahamian public.

The revised code can be found here: URCA ECS 78/2024 Code of Practice for Content Regulation Revised
