How to Apply

The requirements for applying for a license can differ based on whether the applicant is a company or a sole trader, as well as the type of license being sought, whether it’s for the Electricity Sector (ES) or the Electronic Communications Sector (ECS).

To help guide you through the application process, URCA ES Licensing Guidelines are available.

Those interested in providing services in the Natural Gas Sector should fill out the Natural Gas Sector Licence Application Form NG 23/2024. Until further notice, the URCA ES Licensing Guidelines will apply to the Natural Gas Sector.

To help guide you through the application process, URCA ECS Licensing Guidelines are available.

  • Applicants looking to set up, maintain, and operate a network or provide carriage services should fill out the License Application Form ECS 2/2011.
  • Applicants seeking to operate an amateur radio service, reciprocal or local, should complete License Application Form ECS 3/2011.
  • Applicants seeking approval for the use of a low-power device should complete the Type Approval of a Low-Power Device Type Approval Application.
