Extension for Submission of Responses to Technical Standards Framework for FM Radio Broadcasting

The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (“URCA”) issues this Notice in accordance with section 8(1)(e) of the Communications Act, 2009.

On December 22, 2015, URCA issued its Public Consultation Document – Technical Standards Framework for FM Radio Broadcasting in The Bahamas [ECS 07/2015] requesting responses to be submitted to URCA on or before February 12, 2016.

URCA has received comments from key industry stakeholders indicating that additional time to formulate responses to the issues and questions involved in the Consultation is needed. URCA is, therefore, extending the deadline for the submission of responses to ensure that the Consultation is as comprehensive and inclusive as possible.

Interested persons now have until Friday, March 4, 2016 to submit their responses to URCA.

Subject to the revised date for submission of responses, all responses must be submitted in accordance with the instructions as set out in the Consultation Document.

The Consultation Document may be downloaded from the “Broadcasting” tab under “Consultations” section of the URCA website www.urcabahamas.bs.
