Cyber Safety Forum Provides Extensive Insight

Under the theme, Using Social Media for Good. How You can Protect Yourself Online, last evening’s Cyber Safety Forum was spearheaded by communications specialist, Kyle Walkine, one of two youth sponsored by URCA to attend last year’s International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) Global Youth Summit which took place in Costa Rica, last September. URCA was pleased to additionally sponsor the forum, building on the momentum from the Global Summit in Costa Rica.

Kyle was joined by a very well balanced panel of youthful insight and technical expertise, including, Kathleen Riviere-Smith, URCA CEO, Inspector Mark Barrett, Head of the Royal Bahamas Police Force’s Cybercrimes Investigations Unit, Sharmie Farrington Austin, Data Protection Commissioner, Tracy Ann Perpall (TAP) Bahamian Youtube pacesetter, D’Asante Beneby, Marketing Specialist. Presenters used live online examples to demonstrate critical issues about unsafe electronic communication media practices.
